Discovery Garden

We headed out to Discovery Garden today. There was so much to see and for the kids to explore! Drew loved the train area and Caroline loved walking under the bridges! Craig loved playing everywhere! And I loved watching all three of my kids :)

Caroline was scared to death of the fake lizard her on the steps. She would not go up or down this set of stairs. This was as close as she got. She screamed when Craig and Drew touched it trying to show her it was okay.

Of course Drew loved working the train set. He kept running out of the depot to see where the trains were on the tracks.

Water Table Fun

I decided to get the water table out this year. For some reason I didn't last year. Oh did Caroline love it! Drew had fun too. I enjoyed watching Caroline try and figure out which way to twist her wrists to make the cup dump away from her instead of on her! It took quite a few tries resulting in one soaked little lady!

Vehicle Day-aka Drew's Day in Heaven

Craig was out of town this weekend at a wrestling tournament. My parents took Drew to our township's vehicle day. They had a lot of the township equipment, fire trucks, ambulances, diggers, and a helicopter even landed. Drew was in total heaven!

Drew's Last Day of Preschool

Drew-man finished his first year of preschool. He loved going to school! The kids had a party and the parents showed up at the end to present his teachers with their gifts. I was a little emotional seeing Drew with his teachers. Thank goodness I have a year to prepare myself to send him kindergarten!

Mother's Day and My Birthday

My mom was given the best gift on Mother's Day 36 years ago. Me! Okay, so maybe it wasn't the best gift-but I was born on Mother's Day. This year we celebrated my birthday the weekend after. Mom and Dad made a great dinner (as usual) and we had my favorite chocolate fudge cake with ice cream.

Kings Island

Our first visit of the year was with the Aliagas! We all had a great time!


The little ones had to enjoy watching the big kids from the comfort of their strollers.

They soon decided that they had had enough and took to driving themselves around the park!

While Drew and Maddie and the daddies rode the log flume, Caroline and Sophia tried to figure out who this giant Charlie guy was.

After a brief rainfall, these two decided to dry off by whipping around!

And the last ride of the evening was the great purple rollercoaster!

Drew-isms

Today we took a walk. And Drew had two more of his sweet and innocent Drew-isms.

1-A neighbor was mowing his yard and then suddenly turned off his mower. Drew asked my why he did that and I told him, "He stopped to talk to his son." Drew looked at me puzzled and then said, "Mommy, the sun can't talk." :) I loved it!

2-Drew asked on the way back if we could have a "picamic". I had to look at him as he repeated it for me. I finally figured out he wanted to have a picnic with "samwiches". So we did...

Mother's Day 2010

For some reason, I was really struck this year on Mother's Day. I don't know if it was the excitement that Drew showed me about giving me a card, balloon, flowers, and doughnuts or if it was just the overwhelming happiness I feel knowing that I have been given the gift of being a mommy to two wonderful children. Many times throughout today I just sat and watched the kids. My dream of being a mommy continues to amaze me. I am blessed and honored! This picture is even more special after listening to our sermon at church this morning. Drew brought me a very special gift after playing outside for a bit...

Cruisin on a Not So Sunny Afternoon

Mom and Dad took the kids over to Barb's house for the kids to take a spin. Drew LOVES this! He spent two hours driving yesterday. Thanks Barb for sharing your toys with my kids!

Mother's Day Tea

Today Drew's preschool had a Mother's Day Tea. The 3s and 4s each sang two songs and then sang 1 song together. They then showed a video of each child saying what they love about their mommies. I had a tear in my eye listening to all the sweet things the kids thought about their moms. I also got very nervous wondering what Drew was going to say! His answer, "I love my mommy because she buys me dump trucks and diggers." Oh heavens! I have work to do! :)

After the performance we had refreshments and received a personalized painted stone. It was so sweet. The biggest dream of my life continues to bless me everyday-being a Mommy!

All is Calm...

On Tuesdays Craig has open mats and on Thursdays he is in a golf league. These two days are also Drew's school days. Since he gets home later in the afternoon, we skip naptime.

No nap=early bed=Mommy gets quiet alone time

I let Drew (and sometimes Caroline) lay in my bed on these nights to watch one of his movies. Tonight I went up at 8:00 to put Care in bed. I saw such a peaceful sight. I ran down to get the camera. When I came back, turned it on and held it up, I heard a gentle, "Cheeeese". She wasn't asleep-just very quiet. It was so sweet to hear her tired little voice (and to see such a peaceful sleeping Drew).
