My Little Artist

Tonight Drew's preschool had their Spring Art Show. I was very impressed with the amount of artwork they had displayed around the entire building! Drew did a great job showing us what he created.

A Nice Spring Evening

Craig loves the firepit he and my brother built on our patio. He takes every opportunity he can to build a cozy fire. Tonight was a perfect fire night! He, the kids, and Bailey all cuddled up to enjoy it.
Oh, where was I for this wonderful fire you ask? Inside, hiding from the kids, to enjoy a bit of this heaven that I made. I HIGHLY recommend this brownie pudding! DELICIOUS!

DANGER-Bath in Progress

Taking a bath can be very dangerous!

Protective eyewear is recommended!

Drew often likes to find something to take into the bathtub. We talk about that the toy can't be metal, have paper, etc. He found his safety goggles in his toolbox and asked if he could wear them in the bathtub-"They're not metal Mommy." So I couldn't argue. My little man is always trying to be safe--tubtime included!

My Little...Girl?

Is that some sort of goatee on my daughter?!
Or, upon closer inspection, the icing from a Busken Easter cookie?

Kite Fest

Today was our last day of Spring Break and it was beautiful! We decided to take the kids to Kite Fest. Drew has said many times already this spring, "It's a nice day out to fly a kite." So we thought we would take advantage of other people putting kites up in the sky! First we watched the experts fly the kites.

Then Drew got to make his own kite.

And he got to meet Snoopy!

Then Daddy helped him put his new kite in the sky.

And he flew it all by himself!

Opening Day 2010

Today was Opening Day for the Cincinnati Reds. I have lived here for almost 27 years and have never gone down to the parade. I was so excited to be on Spring Break this year and have great weather for the day! We all put on our Reds gear and loaded up to head the parade. I was probably just as excited to go to my first Opening Day parade as the kids were! Drew LOVED all of the different vehicles (fire trucks, buses, diggers, lawn mowers, etc). Caroline fell asleep in my arms about halfway through. What a great morning!

On the hunt for...

EASTER EGGS! This was hunt #3 for Drew and Caroline. They had more and more fun each hunt! This one was at Gigi and Papa's house. Mom always made us hunt for our baskets first and then we could look for eggs. Luckily the Easter bunny (Kelly) didn't make the basket hunt too hard!
Drew found his basket! Now on to looking for eggs!

Caroline is ready for the hunt now too!

Jessica's mom brought the kids a bag full of goodies!

Aunt Bonnie helping Caroline dig into her goods.

Karli's first Easter!

Caroline LOVES dancing with this bunny! Thanks Debbie!!!

Easter 2010

Church would not be complete without Cheerios!

We went to the 11:00 service at our church. After that, we all went home and napped before heading to my parent's house for lunch and egg hunting. Ryan, Jessica and Karli and Jessica's parents were also there. Aunt Bonnie, Uncle Mike, and Kelly came down to meet Karli and see the rest of us too (so they say) :) It was a beautiful day!

Dying Eggs

We finally got around to dying our eggs Easter morning before church. Drew had a fun time and Caroline really didn't care. I am sure this will change next year!

Today's Tubtime with Drew

I have decided to start a segment all about Drew's great tub talk (since there seems to be a lot of it!). Tonight's conversation was between Drew and Craig. Let me set the scene: Craig was laying on the bed in our room while I gave the kids their baths. When Drew got out and dried off he went running into our room while I was drying off Caroline.
Drew: "C'mon Daddy! You are going to miss the party!"
Craig: "What party buddy?"
Drew: "The naked party Daddy! C'mon!"

We don't have naked parties around here-TRUST ME! :)

Sunshine and Sand

Spring Break has started and I finally convinced Craig to put sand into the sandbox that is under the swingset. Drew is so excited to be able to play in the sand in our own backyard!

Bathtime by Drew

Well, after the Ellen post not too long ago, I am beginning to see a theme--Drew has a lot of deep thoughts during bathtime! Tonight proved no differently.

#1-He loves to pour water and it often "accidentally" gets poured on Caroline's head. Tonight I reminded him that he is not to pour it on her. His response, "I just need to baptize her Mommy." His memory amazes me!

#2-Then, the not so appropriate thought for tonight (another theme--inappropriateness), "Mommy, when is Caroline's peepee going to come out?" I tried to ignore but he insisted, "Her peepee is just inside, when is it going to come out like mine?" I again ignored and offered to lotion his back--that got him sidetracked...for now! All I could think of was "Kindergarten Cop"-I am sure you know the line! Ugh!!!

Until next bathtime...and more deep thoughts! :)
